Prayer is our first Response not our last resort

Psalm 40:13-17; Psalm 35:4, 21, 26 and 27

asking God to remember him

Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! Isa 49:15

  For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you."* Heb 13:5

 Please, God, rescue me! Come quickly, LORD, and help me.

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isa 41:10

"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—John 14:16

May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame.

The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10

Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. Luke 10:19

May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.

And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. Rev 12:11

Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said, "Aha! We've got him now!"

Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. Joel 2:27

But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jer 29:13 (HCSB)  

Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!" Neh 8:10

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:11

May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "God is great!"

How great is the LORD, how deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on his holy mountain! Psalm 48:1

Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD!  Psa 150:6

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Phil 4:4

But as for me, I am poor and needy;

1.  I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord; no tender   voice like thine can peace afford.

Chorus: I need thee, O I need thee;  every hour I need thee; O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee. 

2.  I need thee every hour; stay thou nearby; temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.

You are my helper and my savior;

O LORD, do not delay.

The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent. 2 Peter 3:9

He who testifies about these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20
