Vs. 1 Joy is the Soul of Praise
Praise always has its reason and those reasons are found in God, Himself for:
a. who He is
b. what He has done
It is dangerous to rejoice in temporal comforts
What pitfalls are there to rejoice in
· your health
· your finances
· where you are in life
· yourself
· sin (fatal)
Instead rejoice in God Who is Good and what He does do – and if you allow Him –He loves you.
God loves the praise of His people

· He makes everything beautiful Eccl. 3:11
· Trust Him by praising Him in the midst of the storm Is. 25:4

Vv. 4-5 Why do we praise Him? – His unfailing love fills the earth!
· His Word is Right
· His ordinances are right—natural, moral, and spiritual
· His incarnate Word – Jesus is righteous
· God is good, just and excellent -- Luke 18:19, Deut. 32:4, Ps. 36:7
