Psalm 11 - Faith Vs. Fear - Trust Vs. Distrust

“Nothing can be done in heaven, earth, or hell that God does not ordain and over rule”. Charles Spurgeon

Is it better to face the danger OR distrust the Lord?

David’s answer, “I trust in the Lord.”

I will lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

Verse 1 Run for your life. Flee to safety. Look at the circumstances around you.

Verses 2-3

· The wicked are in control.

· They are coming after the righteous.

· Things aren’t as they were before.

· We have no hope (what can we do?).

David’s answer

Verse 4 The Lord is in His holy temple. The Lord still rules from heaven.

David’s Walk My Walk

As a young man:

He believed/ trusted in God.

He learned to love Him.

He worshipped Him.

He grew in wisdom.

He learned to walk in obedience.

He learned how to be a warrior, a king.

David chose faith over fear!

The wicked seemed to be winning.

The economy was collapsing.

There was no law and order.

What can we do?

But --

Place our trust in God. He is in His holy temple.

He is watching, examining closely.

He hates violence.

His judgment will come.

He is Righteous.

He loves justice.

Those who are right, those who are righteous will see His face!

Philippians 4:6

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.”

--- reflection on his walk with God.
