Psalm 43 – It’s Me Again, Lord

The sons of Korah were hopeless in Numbers 27:11. God’s mercy put them in a place that was secure.
He rescued and redeemed them when their lives seemed hopeless.
The writer came to God –
V1 as his/our judge
his/our advocate
his/our deliverer
V2 Stating his case –
You are my only safe haven
And I can’t see any help!
V3 This writer knows God, His Word
Send out Your light. Ps. 18:28; 36:9; 119:105; 139:11
Send out Your truth. Ps. 25:5, 10; 40:11; 54:5, 86:11
The psalmist is asking God to lead him to His Holy Mountain. Psalm 48:1 (I don’t want to live in the wilderness. I want to dwell in Your presence.)
V4 When I get there,
· I am going to Your altar
· The source of joy (living water)
· I am going to play for You on my harp
· I am going to sing, “Oh God, my God.”
V5 Why am I discouraged? Why sad?
I’m going to put my hope in God.
I will praise Him again!
He is my Savior and my God!
Five my’s –
My cause - tell Him about
My strength - He is all powerful
My joy - God is the source
My soul - calm refreshing, comforted
My God - He is and always will be
